Invitation to Participate Private View

An exciting and playful exhibition, 'Invitation to Participate' opened its doors on Saturday 7th May, welcoming visitors of the private view to experience a realm of art engaging with participation.

Mcgilvary/White chose individuals to play with their work 'Pong', while Alice Kilkenny offered a serene window space of colorful reflection to sit in. Katie Tindle transformed you into a voyeur with a frantic stat screen of her health, while Jacob Watmore cast you as the protagonist of your own scene in his piece 'Script, Pepperami'. An indie art game weaved a visual poem in the form of Daniel Benmergui's 'Today I Die', and drifting over the gallery the words of the tongue in cheek protest flag by Shireen Liane, commanded everyone to 'Let Them Eat iPhones'. In the background the eclectic music of the San Dance Company played, an organisation stemming from San Keller's intriguing work 'Until the Last Dance', a contractual agreement between yourself and the artist to dance for the rest of your life to your chosen song.

The exhibition runs until June 11th, open Thursday - Saturday, 10am - 3pm.
