We received our eviction notice on Thursday (27th April) and so have spent the last two days removing the last vestiges of Sticks from Fareham Shopping Centre. To all those who have supported us at Fareham Shopping Centre we are grateful. To those who will miss us as a break from the boredom of consumerism, remember we still have an outreach space in Fareham. To those who are worried this is the end:
It’s not.
We currently have a rolling call on our affiliates site for the Food Gallery.
You can still catch the wonderful exhibition, VIBRANT, featuring the work of Svetlana Ochkovskaya at Food Gallery until 29th May
The wonderful work of illustrator Erin Keen is still on view at Tooth Gallery
AND
We will be updating you about the new Sticks main space very soon
Releasing details of an exciting event we are currently working on with support from Arts Fundraising and Philanthropy
For those who have contacted us concerned. We will still be running the open this year and will be releasing details in due course

Physical theatre is a really accessible form of theatre, where language, or lack of it, is not a barrier as the story is mostly told through physical means. It is closely linked to choreography and other physical art forms such as mime and circus: the unifying aspect is a “reliance on physical motion of the performers rather than or combined with text to convey the story”.
Stories are communicated by performers through hand gestures, body language, thought tracking and many more physical features. This makes it great as an introduction to the theatre and as a way of enabling everyone, irrespective of age or health to join in.
The workshop will last under 2 hours and we would be interested to get people’s opinions about running a workshop such as this more regularly at Sticks.
We hope to see you there… no one is too old, too young, too loud, too infirm or too anything to join us!!! We want to see as many of you here as possible!

From Animatronics, to models, prosthetics, to film we have a wide variety of brilliant visual treats for fans of fx and as always the exhibition is completely free to view although donations are always welcome.
If you are a filmmaker and looking for talent to work on your next production you could do worse than having a chat with TankFall FX! Like Hampshire Film Co we have been hugely impressed by the quality and skill of their work.
If you cannot make it to the launch we are back open next Thursday and then every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the exhibition ends on July 30th.
The post MAKE UP & MAGIC PREVIEW SATURDAY 2nd JULY first appeared on .]]>Mcgilvary/White chose individuals to play with their work ‘Pong’, while Alice Kilkenny offered a serene window space of colorful reflection to sit in. Katie Tindle transformed you into a voyeur with a frantic stat screen of her health, while Jacob Watmore cast you as the protagonist of your own scene in his piece ‘Script, Pepperami’. An indie art game weaved a visual poem in the form of Daniel Benmergui’s ‘Today I Die’, and drifting over the gallery the words of the tongue in cheek protest flag by Shireen Liane, commanded everyone to ‘Let Them Eat iPhones’. In the background the eclectic music of the San Dance Company played, an organisation stemming from San Keller’s intriguing work ‘Until the Last Dance’, a contractual agreement between yourself and the artist to dance for the rest of your life to your chosen song.
The exhibition runs until June 11th, open Thursday – Saturday, 10am – 3pm.
