Fragments explores the concept of objective truth by initiating a visual conversation about the nature of reality.<\/p>\n

Using the work of two artists, Sue Eves & Krasimira Butseva, it looks at what impact the lived experience of an individual has on their interpretation of what is and what isn\u2019t & how perception can be altered by internal (e.g. memories) & external forces (e.g. propaganda used to support political ideology).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each artist brings to the exhibition, their own take on what is reality; Krasimira questioning the realness of the photograph often perceived to be a record of the real, using “vernacular photography and family narratives” to create a collective narrative, removing the individual from the story; while Sue’s rollered abstract images do away with a fixed narrative and leave the creation of the story to the audience; in short there is no fixed reality and we, based on our lived experience bring to the work the notion of what\u00a0it<\/em> is.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n ARTIST STATEMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Fragments explores the concept of objective truth by initiating a visual conversation about the nature of reality.
