Ailsa Brims is a photographer and mixed media artist
using a wide variety of materials to create
emotion in the audience.

Ailsa explores deep, often uncomfortable emotions via mixed media. Her subjects range from wonder and excitement to loneliness and disconnection.   Using colour and shapes to express emotions, her work asks the viewer to reflect on their own deeply held feelings. Street photography may be combined with poetry to enhance the exploration of loneliness. Her contemplative photography shows small details that might be overlooked, revealing a beautiful world with a fresh eye.
Ailsa uses acrylic and watercolour paintings to convey feelings. Some are profoundly painful, reflecting rejection and loss, whilst others are joyful and intensely intimate.

Ailsa is currently undertaking a Fine Art MA at Portsmouth University.
